It's exhausting being unemployed ...

Whew. It's freakin' 4 o'clock Friday already. Where did the week go? Time is passing strangely. Going into this unemployment thing, I envisioned a lot of sloth on the front end, but I haven't indulged in even one of the Lord of the Rings movies, let alone a burrito-soaked marathon, and have had only one beer all week. And that was after 5 p.m. So much for scheduling all that late-morning drinking.

But I guess that's a good thing. It's weird — I've had more energy and drive being jobless than I had for the last six months of my corporate newspaper job. Go figure.

We're a little thin on posts today because I've been in and out all day. A little bit of gym time, a little bit of work — yup, landed my first post-layoff freelance gig. It's small, but it's a start. And it's for good people, and that always helps. You're gonna make it after all.

Thanks to everyone who has checked out the site, linked to it and/or given it some press. Even if you stopped by to confirm that I was a loser, I'm glad you came. We're just gettin' warm ...

  2. I haven't held any job that wasn't self-employment based in twelve years and lived on disability since 1992...that means just under $700 a month and if they kill you to steal your toilet paper then we are all losers at that point.
